TOPIC:
The site Graz-Puntigam definitely belongs to one of the potentially most valuable development areas in the southern part of Graz. The new developments of infrastructural facilities (train-station, tramway & bus terminal, P&R) create a unique opportunity to re-establish a sustainable and new district centre. A strong mix of programs (commercial/retail uses, Cineplex, infrastructure, cultural facilities, housing …) have to be organized in such manner that they merge into an urban pole. Green spaces and a soft mobility network shall play an active role in the new development. Existing borders and barriers (main connections, brewery, topography) have to be considered and integrated in the project. The existing qualities of the new pole will act between mobility, nature and multifunction.
